Jon woke up today not feeling very well.
He has such a sporadic work schedule and never has enough sleep.
We thought he was just tired.
By late this afternoon his elbow looked like this...
Very swollen, red and angry and warm to the touch.
So for date night, we went to the Urgent Care.
He was running a fever and the Nurse Practioner debated whether or not to open up the elbow and try to drain it or start Jon on antibiotics and see if that would clear it up.
We left with 2 antibiotic prescriptions to treat MRSA (staph infection) for cellulitis, and a ring drawn around his elbow with a marker. If the redness and swelling breach the line of the marker we need to get him in right away. This can easily spread and make him very sick.
We are praying hard and hoping the meds kick in and do the trick....would hate for them to open up the elbow....
The NP did caution Jon NOT to try and open it himself because he would be likely to get a worse infection. Jon promised not to treat himself on this one.
We had Taco Bell for dinner and brought it home.
Thanks Scott for watching Kyle while we were at the Urgent Care and thanks for getting him fries!
