Utah

Utah

We spent a couple of days at Papa's house -- Derek came down to visit and we got a weekend with him.  That was so much fun!

Jon and Ashlyn have a long standing tradition!
When Ashlyn was a little girl, she would come down the street and have breakfast with Jon.  They would eat cereal and toast.

Now, the tradition continues -- except she traveled 2 hours and we ALL went to Village Inn for breakfast and we had a good time!
Derek, Owen, Kyle and Papa

Owen -- he is sooo cute!

Sticking his tongue out just like his Great-grandma Henline.  She always stuck her tongue out when she was concentrating.

Daddy Jake -- modeling Owen's hat.

Cabelas

Kyle and Owen had fun together...Kyle pushed him all over the store.

Kyle tried his hand at archery -- attempting to shoot the pumpkin.

He didn't hit a pumpkin, but he had fun trying.

Sonic

One day we went to lunch at Sonic
and then, as tradition dictates, we crossed the street to AA Callisters and bought Kyle ANOTHER cowboy hat!

Ahhhhh -- there it is...
Route 44 Diet Cherry Coke
I feel better now....

It snowed while we were there....I have to say that I don't really miss the snow.

And then....
Derek had to leave.

One very sad, sad, Kyle.

Almost a smile.
See you soon Derek.

And then....
...we had to leave to go home.

First we had French fries though.

Kyle saying good bye to Papa -- and modeling his new cowboy hat.

Waiting for our plane at Salt Lake.

Kyle was this happy to be going home.

Flying in to Seattle.

We sort of had the fast track.  We had about 45 minutes left of our flight, when a lady in the row behind and to the side of us, passed out.  They worked to get her conscious and responsive.  Our 45 minute flight turned out to be about 25 minutes.  I'm sure they altered our route and cleared the area for us to come in quickly.

The Fire/Rescue crew met the plane and took her off.
We gathered our luggage and went to catch our shuttle.  The lady that they'd taken off the plane, was on the shuttle with us.  We asked if she was okay, and she was embarrassed and said, "Yes, I passed out from low blood sugar."  She had left New Jersey at 7 a.m. and had been traveling all day, and she hadn't eaten.  She was stopping over-night in Seattle and continuing on to Korea the next day, where she would report to her military unit.

We were so glad we got to talk to her and thank her for her service to our country.  Very thankful that she was okay.

Now we were home....We'd been gone 10 days.....and in four days we had another trip.
Deep breath.....
Life gets crazy sometimes....and it was about to happen.....
