There are at least two ways to fish for tennis balls.
I will explain the two I've witnessed.
Kyle's way...
Throw a tennis ball in the pool.
Use the RC boat and push the tennis ball with the bow of the boat
toward the side of the pool.
Keep using this method until you can reach and retrieve the ball.
Let Dexter supervise and sometimes chase the ball in to the pool.
Be sure the tennis ball is not punctured so that it will float.
Retrieve the ball and start the process over.
This provides hours of entertainment!
Method Two
Discover that a punctured tennis ball has found it's way into the deepest portion of the pool.
Yell at Dexter.
Get the broom and attempt to move the tennis ball to the shallow end of the pool.
When the broom isn't long enough,
Using duct tape, put two long poles together
(sort of like constructing a rudimentary lathe -- which movie?)
As pictured above.
Scott will supervise from the slide with Dexter looking on...
It reaches!
Carefully, move the tennis ball...inch by inch into the shallow end of the pool.
When it is close enough...have Scott lay on his belly....hold his legs so he doesn't fall in...while he sticks his arm in, up to his shoulder and retrieves the ball.
Remember to throw the punctured tennis ball in the garbage, or you will be repeating this process over and over and over again.
Both methods are entertaining to watch -- however Kyle's method is most enjoyable for those actually participating.
Enjoy your fishing!
