Today was the big test day. We went to a procedure room at about 2 p.m. and Kyle was given anesthesia.....45 minutes, a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) and a bone marrow aspirate and biopsy, later, we were back in our room. Because of the delay in getting him in for the procedures, we did not get any results from the tests today, but we are expecting them in the morning.
Tonight, Kyle was "himself"! It was so exciting to see him singing along, and speaking parts along with his movies. "Mary Poppins", "McLintock", and "The Santa Clause". He was telling stories and talking to everyone. There were an abundance of fries! He had many visitors (pictures and post to follow), and it was a great night.
After everyone left, I was reaching to help him have a drink of water, bumped a cup of sprite, the lid popped off, it spilled all over the tray, the bed, and Kyle! It was not a good scene. He got soooooo upset, it took him half an hour to settle down. It was kind of funny really, but such a shock to him, and I feel bad that he was so upset. As far as trauma goes it was really pretty mild, but to him, it was more trauma than the tests!
