Logan, Utah

After we arrived in Salt Lake, we rented a vehicle -- Jon had "scored" on Hotwire.com a few days earlier, upgraded our car to an SUV, and still saved $70.  We had a brand new Ford Explorer -- with all the "bells and whistles".  Jon said all week, "I gotta get me one of these."

We drove from Salt Lake to Logan, Utah, where the plan was to surprise Derek!  He knew we were coming -- he just didn't know when!  Barry lured Derek back to the restaurant and had us come sit where Derek couldn't see us.  Derek brought out a jumbo order of fries and there we were!  He quirked one eyebrow, said, "Hey."  And that was the surprise.  Kyle just about tackled him,  and they both had the biggest grins on their faces!  Worth of every moment of keeping the surprise a secret.

We stayed at the Marriott Springhill Suites while we were in Logan.....that way, no one knew we were coming and we didn't displace anyone at Barry's house.

Brennan spent the first night at the hotel with us!  Kyle loved having him there....he had three glorious days of friends, who happen to be cousins, and liked being with him! 

Brennan was excused from work so that he could take us on a tour of Logan.....

Kyle loves the LaBeau's t-shirt....he wears it backwards, because the picture is supposed to be on the front, don't you know?  Thanks to Barry for giving him two more t-shirts -- if you didn't know better, you'd think he never changes his t-shirt!

Jon pulled up to the window and kept honking the horn.  Derek was swearing at the idiot at the window and made Logan "deal with the obnoxious customer". 

MILESTONE

The ugly truth -- Kyle's growing up -- he's "become" a teenager and this was his first "shave".
