Scott's 23rd Birthday

22 September 2013

Scott turned 23!
For his birthday we went to the mall (did you know that mall is a four letter word and should be treated as such?), where he found a new suit, which he needs for work.

We had a great day!
Scott was very tired though, because he's been working a graveyard shift for 10 days, and he didn't get any sleep before we went shopping.

We went to dinner at Outback Steakhouse for his birthday dinner, and then we came home and had cake!  Sunny made a three layer cake.  We didn't have candles ~ someone was incredibly remiss in planning for this day ~ so Jon put matches on in place of candles.
We sang really fast.
Scott tried to blow out the candles, but Kyle sort of pushed him out of the way and did it for him!

Sunny took pictures and a video ~ I need to get copies and then I will add to the post.

We had the Utah ~vs~ BYU game on, while we ate cake.

It's funny because when Scott was born, they induced labor.
I had a family practice doctor and the specialist pointed at me and said, "That is at least an eight pound baby.  If she's not doing anything by noon, call me and we will just take him."  Then he left.
My doctor left too.
He didn't really check back.
Seventeen hours later -- at three o'clock in the morning, the specialist was yelling at my doctor for letting us labor so long.  He was expounding how it was not safe and ridiculous since he'd told him to call by noon.  To which our doctor said, "I was at the BYU game."
Kind of coincidental.

And such a happy outcome for us.
Twenty-three years ago, we got Scott and he has been a joy.
This year, the Utes beat BYU.

Happy Birthday Scott!
