Lincoln City, Oregon
It worked out that we were able to meet our BFF's, Michael and Laura Miller, and their family in Lincoln City, Oregon.
Scott and Sunny came with us and we had a fun little suite at a hotel right on the beach in Lincoln City. It was very fun.....there was a room with a queen bed that Scott and Sunny had, we had a roll-a-way bed for Kyle and a king bed in the main room. So we were very comfortable and the deck was awesome!
Scott and Sunny's room
Main room
Little kitchen area -- there was a two burner stove and dishes...nice...
View from the deck
Each year we try to go to the coast. We love the beach. We have really only gone here in Washington though, so this was a new experience for us.
What we loved:
The hotel! Overlooking the Pacific Ocean
The room! A TV and DVD player for Kyle.
The deck! I sat on the deck, reading a book for a good long time!
A sandy beach with bigger waves than where we've been in Washington ~ I missed our rocky beach with the big waves -- but that's just me.....
And best of all! Spending time with our friends!
Sunny, Jon and Scott -- looking up at our balcony -- the mist is actually moisture in the air -- that only showed up with the flash...
....same time -- without the flash.
What a good-lookin' man!
We had fun exploring the little shops along Highway 101
Later in the day -- after the fog burned off....mostly...
Kyle bought himself a light-saber and he was out to get Scott.
HA!
Campfire on the beach....

Rachel and Bryant
Our hotel as seen from the beach.
Laura -- probably saying something pissy about having her picture taken -- she makes me laugh!
Love this lady!
Laura has had my back and seen me through the last 27 years -- I would be lost without her love and friendship!
Caden and Kyle
Caden was a trooper -- let Kyle wrestle with him and was so sweet and kind all weekend!
Thanks Caden!
Sydney and Cyle
It was Syd's birthday! Happy Birthday Syd!
Kyle and Sunny
Bryant, Rachel and Lilah and Gabe

Bryant entertaining us....
....not to be outdone -- Kyle took a turn...
Kenyon! He is such a cutie!
Newport, Oregon
Loved this banner on the light pole
Jon and our girl...
...Newport...
Deciding where to eat -- we didn't eat here because they didn't have fries that Kyle would eat....and then we ran into the Miller's who were also in Newport....so we had lunch together at a place that was spendy -- with mediocre food -- but they had fries that Kyle would eat....such is our lot....
Haha Caden -- I got a photo of your face....(far left)

Scott, Sunny, Caden, Gabe, Rachel
Hahahahaha GABE -- I got a photo of you too and would you look at that smile!

and a family of four who stopped so as not to ruin the picture.....which really was a nice gesture....
Kyle, Me and Jon
On our way back to Lincoln City,
we found a Christmas Shop!
They had the most amazing Christmas ornaments -- and yes -- we bought a couple....
Jon and Scott on the beach -- the fog was particularly bad on this afternoon.
Progression of a Sunset
....and then...
a small break in the clouds that allowed an amazing sunset.
A Man in his element!
On the second afternoon ~ with a small break in the fog ~ Jon built himself a little fort in the sand....and then he sat there....and sat there....and sat there....until the waves breached the walls of his fort. He loved it! I loved watching him....while I sat on the deck reading my book.
He was on the beach for about four hours! Loving every minute.
Sunday the sun finally came out -- and it was gorgeous!
Jon went walking on the beach....I sat on the deck...
do you see a trend here?
~ Differences in relaxation ~
Still a little wobbly since he broke his ankle....
I was taking photo's and watching through the telephoto lens and I kept thinking....
"Please don't fall. Please don't fall."
He didn't fall and I was so thankful!
The ocean just calls to him ~ calms and soothes the soul.
Happy, Happy, Happy!!
We stopped at this farm "stand" -- coolest old barn.
We bought fresh corn ~ which was good
fresh tomatoes ~ which were ambrosia ~ so good!
and hazelnuts.
Okay ~ I just loved the flowers!
The only part of the trip we didn't like ~ driving home!
So much fun! Thanks Michael and Laura for letting us crash your vacation!
