1st Follow-Up Visit

March 6th, 2014

Dad had his first follow-up visit with Dr. Bowles.

We packed up all of our gear and Barry drove us to Salt Lake.
It was a gorgeous day!
Love Logan Valley!

It was quite blustery -- and you can see (sort of) the snow blowing on the top of the mountain.

The nurse unwrapped Dad's foot,
Dr. Bowles declared, "It's looking mighty fine!"
Dad graduated to a smaller protective shoe, a cane instead of crutches, and coming home to his house!  He was a happy man!

Dr. Bowles also told us that the margins in the toe are completely clear of cancer.
The first lymph node had a few abnormal cells, BUT the next three were clean and clear of cancer, therefore, no further treatment is necessary!

HUGE SIGH of RELIEF!
What an tremendous blessing!!

Did I take photos of the foot and toe area?
Why, YES I DID!

From the front...

From the side...

It didn't look as bad as I was anticipating -- and she left more toe than we were expecting....so he has not had much problem in the way of balance issues.

Planning to head back to his shifts at the Temple as soon
as he can get a shoe and sock on his foot.

All in all -- a good visit to the doctor.
