Papa in Arizona ~ 2

Today we went to a few attractions

on the Apache Trail.

 

Superstition Mountain Museum

I love this mountain ~ it's just beautiful and cool looking.

We saw a replica of the Fire Station of the Old West.

Inside the barn ~ near the Bunkhouse ~ was a wall of actors who had filmed movies on the Apache Trail.

Others on the wall were Jimmy Stewart and Elvis Presley and a bunch of others I recognized but can't remember their names...

Stamp Mill

This is a grinding mill that takes boulders and grinds them down to manageable chunks so that metals can be extracted.

Blacksmith shop

Windmill that runs the well for water.

Who needs an explanation?

I thought it was funny that this actually had an "Out of Order" sign on it....no deposits accepted.

Goldfield Ghost Town

Looking down the street from the top of the hill by the Church.

 

Goldfield Ghost Town is really a tourist trap.

The kind of place I love!

Lot's of fun little shops.

Over-priced souvenirs....and just fun!

 

We didn't ride the train or the zip line -- but maybe we will do that another time.

They also had a tour of the underground mine, a place to pan for gold, jeep tours, horseback riding and a bunch of things that we didn't explore.

Beautiful little church.

Loved this old tractor.

 

As we came into the town (from the parking lot) there was a sign for a hat shop.

Kyle made a beeline for that shop and found himself a hat.

The sheriff made Kyle an honorary deputy....

...gave him a shiny gold star....

...then posed for a photo with him.

At the hat shop we posed for "Wanted" posters.

This just fit!

The "fast" part....not so much.

Kyle kept telling us, "Fries! 2!"

Which means ~ two large fries from McDonalds please ~

Then we all got in on the fun....

 

It was a very fun day.

Love spending time together ~ going on adventures ~

or just sitting home together.

It's the "together" that makes the difference!
