Second Hand Lions

Today we saw "Second Hand Lions", the musical....yes, the musical...
Oh, you didn't know it was a musical?
It is ~ it really is.

The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle has developed and produced many new musicals which have found their way to Broadway and become huge money makers and had success beyond belief.  The hope is that "Second Hand Lions", will be one of these.

My friend, Laura, was kind enough to send me a discount code for teachers ~ and I got tickets for $23 instead of the regular $69 or higher.  I got to choose our seats...and we had good ones.

Kyle doesn't look too happy, but he was still a bit uncertain, after a few minutes his smile came out.

Outside the theatre...under the marquee...gorgeous!

The stage as we waited.

Sunny and Kyle were having fun taking pictures
and making faces.

Yes, I had to coax the smile out -- but
isn't he cute?

The best group "selfie"....
With a photo bomb by the pamphlet of the Sound of Music
on the seat behind us!

Some of the décor inside the theatre.

This is the chandelier that hangs in the center of the theatre, it's a gorgeous dragon...I tried to get a close-up of the dragon....

Pretty cool.

The play was pretty good.  The story was changed a bit, but was still good and made me want to come home and watch the movie.  There was some great music in the show too.
I enjoyed it.
Sunny enjoyed it.
Kyle loved it.
Jon won't admit to enjoying it, but will admit that he tolerated it as best he could for a musical.

Since we went to the matinee, the play got over just about the time Scott got to have his lunch break...so we met him and we went to....

The food was not good -- but it was filling
and the company was AWESOME.

It was a fun day all around.
If you haven't seen the movie....
See it!  It's a classic!
And if you get the chance....go see the musical!
